Welcome to Sports Connect
It is our strategic objective to work in collaboration and true partnership with other key organisations to provide greater opportunities and support, for young people and adults from across Kent, the Southeast and afar. As an official NCFE, 1st4Sport and a Kent FA Licensed Football provider, we aim to create fun and interactive sports, health and education programmes for a range of audiences and clientele groups. These can be adapted and flexible to meet the needs of the environment, individuals and wavering landscape within our four cornerstones Education & Training, Community & Health, Sports Coaching & Development & Restorative Practice.
As a team, we believe that using this structure will enable an inspired, educated and motivated workforce to be developed. The unique connection we develop with our cohorts enable them to become self sufficient which increases their employment and social status. Our vision is to connect our learners to these three core values. This culture means in each session each learner feels a sense of purpose, pride and belonging in their learning and development.

Sports Connect have helped me with my struggles outside of sports and to grow as a person, the staff are nice people to talk to and are people I can have a laugh with. I enjoyed studying on the NCFE level 3 coaching pathway, I have gained experience through working with other coaches and delivering my own sessions which supported my development and confidence.
When I first came to Sports Connect, I had a fixed mindset towards a lot of things and other people. Having completed my first term, I have met lots of different people and learnt that sport brings people together. I’m more considerate towards my peers and supportive and generally have an appreciation for sport has done for me.
The weekly sessions provide an opportunity for the guys to relax and have fun. Many of them have been on traumatic journeys, and the uncertainty whilst waiting for the outcome of their asylum claims can be very stressful. Football gives them the opportunity to forget about their problems for a few hours. The sessions also give them an opportunity to be part of the local community. Playing football with some of the local players allows them to make friends and connect locally. This is one of the most important aspects for the participants. Over the weeks, I’ve seen their confidence grow and a number have joined volunteer and training programmes as a result of these connections.
The Kent and Medway Violence reduction unit commission Sports Connect CIC to work in collaboration with other providers to deliver a community Sports programme across Kent in areas of risk of harm to young people due to youth violence and other community issues. The aim to reach and engage those most vulnerable to harm. There is evidence that highlights the positive outcomes of community sports and the impact on crime and violence. Sports Connect have achieved amazing engagement in our schools and out in communities, which is a testament to the delivery of their sessions and the team who operate out on the ground.
