Sports Connect at The Appleyard, we believe in providing an approach to
education that promotes a healthy, positive, and balanced lifestyle for our students. Our small group provision ensures individual attention and a maximum of 10 students per group, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for effective learning.

Our primary focus is on delivering meaningful qualifications that equip students with the necessary skills for a successful future.

We understand that each student has unique learning needs and interests, which is why we offer bespoke alternative provision tailored to cater to their specific gaps in learning.

Our comprehensive range of qualifications includes:​

  • English & Maths at EL3, L1, and L2: We prioritise the development of essential literacy and numeracy skills to enhance overall academic proficiency.

  • NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Nutrition and Health (601/3389/2): This qualification provides a solid foundation in nutrition

  • NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Employability Skills (601/4663/1) With a focus on practical employability skills, this certificate prepares students for the professional world by enhancing their job readiness and career prospects.

  • NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness (501/0253/9)

Appleyard

In addition to these qualifications, our informal curriculum encompasses the “Yes Project” content, which emphasises sports and community engagement. Through our sports and community initiatives, students develop teamwork, leadership, and communication skills, while also cultivating a sense of belonging and community spirit.

Our curriculum includes modules on budgeting, transportation, and travel, enabling students to navigate the real world with confidence and self-reliance.
