An Exciting New Partnership with Anchorians Sports Club to Deliver Education & Training Programmes in the Medway Area
Sports Connect is proud to announce a new and dynamic partnership with Anchorians Sports Club, the Education, Training & Skills Programme to one of Kent’s most respected grassroots sports organisations.
Based at the heart of Anchorians Sports Club in Gillingham, this new collaboration will see Sports Connect deliver a high-quality post-16 education programme, combining academic learning with hands-on sports training and real-world work experience.
Anchorians, a community-focused club with teams representing football, rugby and hockey, is known for its inclusive ethos and commitment to player development on and off the pitch. The club’s outstanding facilities provide the perfect backdrop for learners to thrive.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Anchorians and launch our education site in Gillingham,” said Adam Lawrence, Director of Education at Sports Connect. “Anchorians commitment to Inspire, Motivate & Educate and this partnership gives young people the perfect environment to continue their studies while pursuing their sporting ambitions.”
The Sports Connect programme offers a blend of classroom-based qualifications—including Level 2 and 3 diplomas in Sport—with practical coaching, volunteering, and career pathway opportunities in sport and beyond. Students will benefit from high-level mentoring, structured training schedules, and access to work placements across the Anchorians network and Sports Connect’s wider community of partners.
The first cohort begins this September, with applications now open to boys and girls aged 16–19 looking to stay in education, improve their qualifications, and stay involved in sport.
