On Friday 26th April 2024, our Director Simon Hodge delivered the 1st4Sport L1 Activator to a group of Canterbury Christ Church University Sports Coaching students.
Simon put the students through their paces by offering a blended delivery focus using practical and theoretical methods at the Polo Farm Sports Club, Canterbury.
The students had the opportunity to be coached by Simon a UEFA A Licence coach with over 20 years of experience who has specifically created practical activities focussed on aiming to improve participants fundamental movement skills in Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed working to the UK Coaching STEP principles.
Simon modelled various practical activities to the students, who actively participated with a view of these being participated, learnt and delivered to their respective groups, creating a legacy of “practical activities” for the young aspiring coaches to utilise and deliver.
The students then learnt about coaching styles, leadership qualities, roles and responsibilities, session organisation and multi-skills examples to multiple audiences. Their experiences where blended between practical and theoretical workshops with opportunities for reflective peer learning to discuss, share, reflect and complete the necessary 1st4Sport L1 Activator portfolio.
