At Sports Connect, we believe in the power of sport to inspire, motivate, and educate. Over the past year, we have worked tirelessly to create meaningful opportunities that transform lives across Kent and beyond. Today, we are proud to launch our latest Impact Report, showcasing the incredible strides we have made from September 2023 to September 2024.

A Year of Growth and Achievement

This year has been one of expansion, innovation, and continued community impact. Our projects have reached young people, adults, and communities through education, coaching, restorative justice, and wellbeing initiatives. Whether it’s through training the next generation of sports coaches, supporting young offenders in resettlement, or delivering community-led health projects, we have stayed true to our mission.

Some of our key highlights include:

✅ Winning the Kent Wellbeing Award for Sports Project of the Year 2024

✅ 100% of third-year students achieving the Extended Diploma qualification

✅ Over 3,600 attendances at our community programmes

✅ 191 learners completing their first-ever sports coaching qualification

✅ 414 hours of sports delivery in custody settings, helping children in custody find purpose through sport

Transforming Lives Through Sport

At the heart of Sports Connect’s success are the stories of the people we support. Our Impact Report shares real-life journeys—like Adam, who started as a coaching course participant and is now a full-time tutor and Health & Wellbeing Lead, and Joe, who progressed from student to a coach at Charlton Athletic Academy.

We’ve also made a difference in restorative justice, offering education and employability training for young offenders. One participant at HMP Cookham Wood shared how Sports Connect helped him turn his life around, providing opportunities to gain coaching qualifications and reintegrate into society.

Expanding Education & Coaching Pathways

As a Kent FA Licensed Football Provider and an official NCFE & 1st4Sport Approved Centre, we continue to provide high-quality sports education. Our training programs equip young people with the skills, confidence, and qualifications to build careers in sport, with over 221 newly qualified coaches this year alone.

Our community initiatives, such as the CALM Club for mental health and social football sessions for men over 35, are making a significant difference in local wellbeing.

Looking Ahead

This Impact Report is more than a reflection of our past—it’s a springboard for the future. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to breaking down barriers, creating opportunities, and using sport as a tool for positive change.

A massive thank you to our dedicated team, community partners, and most importantly, the individuals who trust us to be part of their journey. We invite you to read the full 2024 Impact Report and celebrate the incredible work happening at Sports Connect.
